"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls",

So said Pablo Picasso and I think the same can be said of beautiful decorative objects - at the end of a day dealing with tiresome practicalities how glorious to sit in a chair and admire a shelf or a table filled with things you have chosen because you love them; the pieces that make your home your story and part of your identity.  The things that bring me joy are those that others have used, loved and cherished - this past life gives an item personality, character and soul which in turn imbues my home with the same.  There is no right or wrong to collecting - and don't let anyone tell you otherwise - listen to your heart and know that resistance is futile - it is simply housekeeping for your soul.
