“If you build it, he will come”

So says the strap-line to one of my favourite films of the 1980s, Field of Dreams - Kevin Costner hears voices, builds a baseball field on his farm, and the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and seven other Chicago White Sox players from 1919 come and play baseball; now that may work in an imaginary Iowa, with a large and active spirit population, in the late 80s but it so doesn’t work when you are launching a new website in 2018 ….!  Just because I (well Celia, my amazing web wizardess) have built it, if you don’t know about it you won’t come and if you are reading this it means you have taken a peek…..so thank you.

Thursday was my official website launch and I hope that you have browsed and on it’s pages you will find a large selection of my antique and vintage bibelots (my new favourite word meaning a small decorative object, valued for its personal significance - very apt!).  These pages will be continually updated as I source new things and I hope that you may find ideas for unique and individual presents for the discerning.  And if you are not looking for a present, well I believe that it is the things that we don’t need but can’t live without that bring life and personality to a home and joy to the collector - in response to those that say they don’t have space then I give you the American collector Mary Randolph Carter, “If there is room for it in your heart, then there’s room for it in your home”.
